President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday afternoon fired the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Investment Promotion Council, Saratu Umar.

The sacked Executive Secretary was immediately replaced by Uju Hassan-Baba in acting capacity.

No reason was given for the sack.

Recall that after the election, President Jonathan appointed Peter Obi as the new Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), fired the Inspector-General of Police, Sulieman Abba and appointed in his place Solomon Arase, he fired the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and appointed Sanusi Lamido Ado Bayero.

He also sacked Gbenga Elegbeleye, the Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC).
