The Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has declared a dusk-to-dawn curfew in the state capital, Ado-Ekiti.

The curfew which was declared on Thursday, comes a day after a communal clash broke out in Atikankan area of Ado Ekiti.

This restriction of movement between 6pm and 6am is with immediate effect.

Security in the capital has been beefed up following the clash.

However, according to the authorities, the curfew was imposed by the governor to forestall any further clash between the warring factions.

Fayose had recently gone to new Inspector General of Police Solomon Arase to seek his help on the gross insecurity that suddenly over took the state.

Two notable persons were kidnapped in the state in the past weeks.

Arase had deployed special forces to the state to stem the tide.
