Those who expected Nigeria’s, new  President, Muhammadu Buhari to hit the ground running and resume work at the Presidential Villa immediately on the first Monday of his administration may be a bit disappointed. It didn't happened that way.

Buhari is still operating from the Defence House, Aso drive, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as cleaning and renovation work still be ongoing in the President’s office and residence.

Witnesses report that civil servants were doing skeletal work while awaiting the appointment of political heads who will stir the ship of various parastatals in the new dispensation.

However,  Buhari has started performing his official duties.

The president will be visiting the Presidents of Chad and Niger Republic on Wednesday to discuss security matters.

The visit is in tandem with Buhari’s emphatic declaration of war against all forms of insurgency in his inaugural speech at the swearing-in held on 29th May at the Eagles Square in Abuja.
