IGP Redeploys Four DIGs, Three AIGs

Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar has redeployed four Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIG) and three Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIG).

According to Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Frank Mba, who released a statement in Abuja, DIG Michael Zuokumor would now head Operations Department, DIG Jonathan Johnson is now to oversee the Department of Information and Communications Technology, DIG Abdurahaman Akano will oversee the Department of Research and Planning, while DIG Atiku Kafur oversees the Department of Training.

Mba confirmed that the redeployment of the senior officers was occasioned by the 16th January 2014 retirement of the two DIGs overseeing Operations and Training.

Similarly, AIG Kakwe Katso was posted to the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Jos, while AIG Fana Salisu was posted to FHQ, Abuja. AIG Musa Daura is to oversee Calabar Zone 6 Police headquarters. Mr. Adeola Adeniji, a Commissioner of Police, is now to supervise the Zone 4 Headquarters, Makurdi.
