Dr. Reuben Abati, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, has debunked claims by a section of the media that President Jonathan has cancelled his planned visit to Chibok.  saying the president never had it in his itinerary to visit the place on Friday.

Abati made the clarification on Friday through his twitter page, said, “Non-existent trip has been cancelled. “Every trip by the President is usually pre-announced. The Presidency did not at any time announce a trip to Chibok today (Friday). Ignore rumours.”

He explained that the statement issued by his office on Thursday only indicated that the President was scheduled to travel to Paris, France.

He concluded that it is wrong and malicious for anyone to allege that a trip that was not scheduled at all was cancelled.
