Governor Nyako Fires 12 Aides

Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State on Friday sacked 12 of his aides, comprising of five special advisers and seven principal special assistants.

The action of the governor, who is currently facing serious confrontation from the State House of Assembly, was made known through a statement issued in Yola, the State capital by the Secretary to the State Government, Kobis Thimnu.

According to Thimnu, who did not state any particular reason for the sack, Nyako approved the withdrawal of the appointments of 12 political appointees with effect from 21st May.

"While the government thanks you (the affected aides) for the services you rendered, you are kindly requested to hand over government documents and properties in your custody to the appropriate authority," Thimnu said.

According to Thimnu, the affected special advisers are: Sanusi Jauro, Abdur-Rahman Bobboi, Kelvin Peter, George Moses and Chubado Babbi ;  while the affected principal special assistants are: Hadiza Kuto, Sadiq Haske, Danjuma H., Bello Njidda, Gidado Aliyu, Shehu Jacob and Usman Marafa.
