Aminu Maigari, Embattled NFF Boss, Arrested

Aminu Maigari, who was on Thursday sacked as president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), by a Plateau State High Court, has been arrested as he stepped down from an aircraft on Friday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Friday.

Maigari had led the Nigerian team, Super Eagles, to Brazil. Unfortunately, the team dropped out after Nigeria was trashed 2-0 in favour of France.

As Maigari led the team back to the Nigeria, he was whisked away by officials of the Department of State Service (DSS) with his current whereabouts unknown yet.

Aminu Maigari and members of his board were on Thursday sacked by the court which granted an Order of Interlocutory Injunction restraining him, the executive committee members as well as the NFF Congress from running affairs of Nigerian football pending the determination of the Motion on Notice before the court.

Justice P.L. Lot, who granted the order, also granted a mandatory injunction compelling the Minister of Sports, Dr. Tammy Danagogo  to appoint a senior members of the civil service in the NFF to manage the affairs of  Nigeria football.
