Gunmen Kill 2 Policemen in Bauchi Mining Firm

Unknown gunmen have killed two policemen guarding a Chinese mining firm at Magama Gumau village in Toro local government area of Bauchi State.

The Policemen who were guarding the firm’s gate were attacked around 5 am on Tuesday morning.

No concrete account could be gathered about exactly how the incident occurred because the firm was located far away from residential area.

In April, Governor of the state, Isa Yuguda had ordered the immediate closure of the Chinese mining firm because it was causing health hazards to communities in Toro local government, he had also odered the arrest of some of the workers thaen.

“I am yet to get details of the attack, but as soon as I do, I will let you know, please,”  said Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Bauchi State police command, DSP Haruna Mohammed, when he was contacted.
