Plateau Governorship Aspirant Dies in Lagos

Cosmas Niagwan, a governorship aspirant for Plateau State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been confirmed dead after slumping on Wednesday in Lagos.

Niagwan, who was a senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District between 2003 and 2007, at that period, slumped while returning from Festac area of Lagos State where he had gone to visit a friend.

He was confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital.

Confirming the incident, Sunday Niagwan, his Personal Assistant, said his boss never showed any sign of ill-health earlier in the day.

He confirmed that the late former Senator, who is survived by a wife and six children, had gone to visit a friend at Festac and was on his way back when the incident occurred.

The Chairman of the PDP in Plateau State, Raymond Dabo, also confirmed the death describing it as a major challenge for the party and the State. He described the former Senator as a kind-hearted politician and an elder of the state.
