Ambode Wins Lagos APC Gubernatorial Primaries

All Progressives Congress has declared former Accountant-General of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, winner of the gubernatorial primaries for Lagos state.

He polled 3735 to beat his closest rival, and Commissioner for Works, Dr. Femi Hamzat, who polled 1201 votes.

Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon polled 272 votes to come third

Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, polled 182 votes, while Supo Shasore had 121 votes.

 Dr. Leke Pitan scored 112 votes, Dr. Tola Kasali scored 69 votes, Tayo Ayinde scored 17 votes, Adekunle Disu scored nine votes, Tokunbo Wahab and Lanre Ope, Abayomi Sutton and Mrs. Tokunbo Agbesanwa, had 0 votes each.

Delegates from Epe Local Government Area who voted are 291, Badagry 305, Ikorodu LGA 498, Ibeju-Lekki 189, Ojo 237, Agege LGA 193, Ifako-Ijaye 214, Alimosho 583, Mushin 280, Eti Osa 329, Ajeromi-Ifelodun 234, Amuwo-Odofin 212, Kosofe 299, Ikeja 290, Somolu LGA 243, Oshodi LGA 282, Apapa 196, Mainland LGA 264, Surulere 340, Lagos Island LGA 252.

Others who picked their party’s ticket in other states are Senator Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan (Taraba State), former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasir El-rufai (Kaduna State);  speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto State), , Governors, Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun State), Abdulfatah Ahmed(Kwara State)  Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo State). Mr. Dakuku Peterside picked the Rivers State APC ticket; Olorogun O’tega Emerhor won in Delta State, Okey Ezea in Enugu and Mr Umana Umana in Akwa Ibom State.
