Feelers emanating from Abuja, suggests that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), may  have decided to postpone the February 14  presidential and legislative elections by six weeks.

The development   arose from a marathon meeting between INEC officials and  politicians in Abuja

A source who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity  said all parties at the meeting except the All People`s Congress(APC) sided with the postponement.

The source stated that the proposed shift is to enable multinational force time, to secure Boko Haram threatened areas in North East Nigeria and also allow for proper distribution of the PVC in the affected area.

The meeting is still ongoing as at press time, however, INEC chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega is expected to make an official announcement at a press conference scheduled for 5pm, Saturday.
