Fani-Kayode Arraigned For Money Laundering

Femi Fani-Kayode, erstwhile Minister of Aviation under President Olusegun Obasanjo is currently being arraigned at a Fed High Court sitting in Lagos, on a 47 count charge of money laundering.

The former minister was first arraigned before Justice Ramat Mohammed on December 23, 2008.

The case was however re-assigned to Justice Binta Murtala-Nyako by the Chief Justice of the Federation after Justice Mohammed was transferred and on February 16, 2012, Fani-Kayode was re-arraigned before the new judge.

The trial was thereafter fixed for October 10 last year, by Justice Binta Murtala-Nyako and in November 2012, the court  fixed February 11, 2013 for the commencement of the trial of the defendant.
